Test samada diri sedang depress atau tidak


Rasanya saya sendiri pernah berada dalam depressing mode bila baca balik pasal depression. Juga disebabkan semalam kitorang discuss pasal communication skill untuk masalah2 depression. Walaupun kitorang main2, tapi dalam satu ayat yang saya ceritakan sewaktu menjadi patient, itu adalah cerita benar.

"Doctor, Im not sure what's happening to me, I think I've lost my life. feel like, lost in this new world. For most of the night, I can hardly go to sleep, it took me 1 hour to fall asleep. In that 1 hour, I will just lie on my bed, thinking about small things that I should not even remember, problems, sometimes, I just lie there, listening to every second of the clock ticking, thinking about nothing. It's just the darkness, me and the clock. I forced my eyes to close, waiting to be taken into the new restful world. I have lost interest to the things that I like before. I used to enjoy doing martial arts stuff. I used to google everything about martial arts, but now, feel like, I have completely changed. I can't study, when I went to classes, my mind just wasn't there. I was so scared to sit for the exam because I can memorize nothing, my mind won't let me. Sometimes, my hand get tremors, but I deny that. I think Im ok. But, with all these changes, I honestly don't know. Right now, I feel like I wanna go to a far away jungle and get lost in that forest forever"

Antara lakonan saya semalam yang ditokok tambah obviously. Walaupun sesi semalam terasa seperti sedikit sahaja kebaikannya, tapi ia sendiri telah banyak memberikan clue kepada diri sendiri. "I've been there."

Namun depression dan normal stress adalah berlainan, contohnya tempoh masa kita dalam mood down. Untuk detect depression, lihat kriteria di bawah. Dan masalah depression sepatutnya dirawat, bukan dinafikan kewujudannya. Namun 70% masalah ini di kalangan remaja tidak didedahkan kerana tiada perasaan perlu untuk pergi sejauh itu, walaupun mengetahui masalah tersebut telah banyak memberikan kesan kepada hidup.


Key symptoms:

        • persistent sadness or low mood;and/or
        • loss of interests or pleasure
        • fatigue or low energy
      • at least one of these, most days, most of the time for at least 2 weeks
    • if any of above present, ask about associated symptoms:
      • disturbed sleep
      • poor concentration or indecisiveness
      • low self-confidence
      • poor or increased appetite
      • suicidal thoughts or acts
      • agitation or slowing of movements
      • guilt or self-blame
  • the 10 symptoms then define the degree of depression and management is based on the particular degree
    • not depressed (fewer than four symptoms)
    • mild depression (four symptoms)
    • moderate depression (five to six symptoms)
    • severe depression (seven or more symptoms, with or without psychotic symptoms)
    • symptoms should be present for a month or more and every symptom should be present for most of every day
